 Mediterranean Services

Freight Transport and Shipping to and from the Mediterranean

The Mediterranean Sea represents the southern border of the European Union and is one of the largest areas by trade in the world.

Comprising of about 20 different independent states and municipalities it is an area that we are proud to say we have excellent connections with.

We have numerous transport options available to cover almost any type of cargo and any any transit time, from economy groupage for pallets, out of gauge and hazardous cargo to express airfreight and full and part load direct direct trailer services.

The Mediterranean Islands

Freight Shipping to and from The Mediterranean Islands

Malta, Cyprus, Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, The Balearics, The Canaries, and the Greek Islands including Crete. Some of these Islands can be reached only via our scheduled groupage services. For example, road transport to Sicily will be directed via our Southern Italy depot. However, we can provide direct transits to and from certain Islands with regular frequency such as Malta and Cyprus.

Italy, Spain & Portugal

Known for their hot and dry climates, Spain, Portugal and Italy are synonymous with fine weather and fine food and drink.

Our road freight services to and from these countries are all driver accompanied assuring your cargo is safe at all times.

With dedicated transit schedules and guaranteed weekly departures we can make collections right up to Friday afternoons in some areas for delivery in Ireland the following Tuesday / Wednesday.

This area is renowned for food and drink production and we are experienced in importing excisable goods such as wines and champagnes from Italy and Spain.

A cold chain service for food and drink to and from Italy can also be provided for on request.

The Eastern Med

Certain areas around the Eastern Mediterranean are becoming increasingly popular for Irish traders because of the recent accession of certain countries to the European Union such as Croatia.

Similarly, the ‘Customs Union Agreement’ between Europe and Turkey effectively allows for trade between the two countries without ‘any’ customs or trade barriers.

Depending on the destination and the nature of the goods, we can advise and offer transport to or from the region by road or ocean via economy scheduled services.

Countries serviced on this lane include, Greece, Croatia, Israel, Lebanon and Turkey.

Service options include palletised groupage, LCL groupage by sea, FTL trailers by road, FCL containers by ocean and express airfreight.

North Africa

Countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia were once countries that apart from airfreight were typically serviced by ocean vessel and via containerised freight services. Today, these countries are being accessed more and more often by road carriers.

Our strategy in this area is to highlight all of the options available to international traders in respect of getting their cargo in and out of the region.

Scheduled road services to major ports such as Tangiers, Tunis and Algiers will accept cargo at regional hubs and deconsolidate locally for nationwide distribution.

Another option is to consolidate via weekly ocean freight. Service times are a little slower but much more economical compared to road.
